My debut appearance on Golan Globus Theater, we discuss the “Viking Episode” of the bizarre and not-great supernatural detective series, BAYWATCH NIGHTS. I might only be an amateur Vikingologist, but it was an honor to lend some academic veritas to this extremely serious discussion of the intersection between science, history, and mythology.

My historical and martial expertise was so well-received after the Baywatch Nights episode that the guys from Golan Globus Theater invited me back to discuss a sword-swinging, cane-tapping movie that’s near and dear to my heart, the Rutger Hauer martial-arts shoot-em-up action flick BLIND FURY. We discuss the myth of the katana, the history of blind swordsmen in cinema, and I advocate for a very dramatic rewrite to the movie’s plot line.

During my third appearance on Golan Globus Theater, we leave the discipline of the sword behind and move into the futuristic world of the mid-1980s and the supersonic super-chopper action series, AIRWOLF. We discuss television aerial combat, men’s fashion choices, the tragic tale of Jan-Michael Vincent, and the sexual magnetism of Ernest Borgnine. Oh, and we also each pick which famous automobile we’d have sex with.

Podcast personality and Coney dog aficionado, the one and only Cigargoyle, graciously invited me to do a video interview on writing and publishing. We gabbed the night away talking about books and cover art, storytelling and writing, how to work up the gumption to start, and what to do when you just aren’t feeling the words flow.
